| Our History |
Multiprint's parent company, Walsall Leather Company Limited, can trace its history back to 1883. It was purchased by the Stephens family in 1928 and traded as suppliers to the cobbler's trade until after the Second World War.
Walsall Leather Company Limited had two retail premises, one in Walsall and one in Willenhall until 1962 when it brought both together in the building it still occupies in Walsall.
The retail trade in these days was solely luggage, fancy leather goods and handbags but in 1978 we moved into the Sports Retail trade under the trading name of Stephens Sports.
Through the sports department we had several enquiries for printed or embroidered sports goods. We found suppliers for these but felt that the service and quality left a lot to be desired.
The Managing Director at the time, Mr. John Stephens, commented that "we could do better than that ourselves!" and so Multiprint was born.
With the decline of both the Leather goods and the Sports trade it was decided to close down the retail arm of the company and concentrate solely on Multiprint.
Multiprint then went from strength to strength, and is now one of the leading suppliers of everything from Work wear to promotional merchandise in the industry. We are still in the same premises with a large ground floor showroom and complete in-house print and embroidery services.
With
over 25 years print and embroidery experience, along with our in-house production
service, we are able to fulfil our commitment to provide excellent service and
quality for any job, however small or large. Multiprint now boasts a large, loyal
customer base including The British Army, ADT Fire and Security and Asda who keep
coming back time and time again. me and time again. |
